How new of a computer is it? I mean, people have spare computers, maybe even parts computers, put a Craigslist ad asking for help, you are an aspiring writer looking for a computer to do your writing on, and that yours is broken. You can also ask on forums that deal with computers about your problem, and find the specific parts/fixes you need to remedy the issue, the members may have the parts for cheap or can help you fix it for free.

You can also ask around and see if anyone needs yard work, house cleaning, or pet sitting. I make anywhere from $15 (doing extreme labor) to $8 doing pet sitting. You could fill an entire summer with that stuff if you play your cards right and know the right people.

Work is kind of lame but in this world, money makes everything function. It sucks but at least you will be able to do certain things that you weren't able to do when you had no money.
