People hyped this show up. After reading the premise, I thought I'd watch it. It's basically like Spy x Family which I love. And the first episode was great so I have no complaints.
It's weird to see complaints about animation. Sure, it might not be Science Saru or Madhouse level but it still looks fine. Ya'll are spoiled way too much.

| @0451 Its mainly because of just how good the fights are in the manga, they are some of the most detailed fights I have ever seen. I was hating on this too when I first saw the trailers, but this first episode was surprisingly enjoyable. I still think it deserves a better studio, and it definitely won't be as good as the manga but at least it might actually turn out somewhat decent. |

It’s actually very famous because of fight choreography in the panels. It has better ones than JJK imo Fairs, I don’t think JJK’s are good so that’s a low bar to me lol but I hear you |

| Incredible premiere, I know a third of the manga and the story is very fun and exciting. It started off great with excellent flow in the action. It’s unthinkable to see the original Sakamoto turned into a family man, but even as a chubby guy, he still retains his assassin essence. Shin was also introduced as his executioner but grew fond of Sakamoto after failing to kill him, and now he’s his disciple/servant, lol. |
| So, Sakamoto is over the top, anime-logic levels of ridiculous version of John Wick (killed a man with a fookin pencil! :D). They even want him to come back. We also have espers. This can be fun. Although the boss-guy was retarded. What did he expect was going to happen when fighting the legend?! |

| Huuum, apparat from the intro scene, something feels off about the face and body animations. It reminds me the early digital animation days of the 2000s...and it's not a good nostalgic feeling. The writing (of the show, the manga may be better) is your generic anime based on Shounen Jump messy affair: Shin lost temporary his precognition power which was working just fine till the first actual fight, Sakamoto-san is married to Chichi (yes, that Chichi) and stuff like that. It's a mid project and my guess is that the better animated scenes of the episode were "animation bump". As a side note, the music reminds me of Gundam Build Fighters for some reason. |

| So im watching this now because if I don't catch it weekly I know I'll never watch it. I'd say mainly im gonna compare this to Spy x Family and I'll say from literally one episode I can tell im going to like this more. This show seems to have a good balance of comedy and seriousness. The problem I had with Spy x family is it portrayed itself on the first episode to be a serious show about a Spy and then quickly just turned into a show with a 90% comedy and 10% serious moments and I feel as if Anya was a partial cause of that. I mean this Spy x Family would have been far more interesting if you made it a serious show and remove Anya. But to stop ranting about that Sakamoto days so far seems good, Nothing special but good nonetheless. I can tell from the art style people are gonna hate the animation even though its not bad in any way its just simplistic. |
| well, my 3rd favorite series in jump (+) at the moment after one piece and csm finally gets an adaptation. it's not as great as i was hoping but it's not as bad as i was expecting either. apart from the drawings looking off at times, i don't have much problems with this surprisingly. i like the filter they got on and the color palette of the show. i like that shin's design in the anime looks different from the early parts of the manga and more similar to as the art evolved. the ost is good, especially the goofy one because it suits the tone very well. sakamoto unlocking his gun vault looked pretty good ngl. the opening scene with slim saka was done well and i like the op song by vaundy too, although i'd rather listen to it on spotify because the op visuals aren't all that. it definitely would've been better under a different studio, but this is good enough for now and i enjoyed it as a start. my cope is that they'll really lock in from deathrow prisoners arc because that's where the main story kicks off and it actually gets real good. people in here attacking @IzanaSolos over a valid take is crazy though, ofc people would hope for it to be better than this. |

| A great first episode, I enjoyed it quite a bit! I like the mix between brutal assassination and wholesome family moments As a fan of the manga I am really looking forward to this adaptation The people who are complaining about the production I assume are newer to anime, yes it's not as flashy as Dandadan in the animation department but that's the exception, not the rule, and the technicality here is not even close to bad |
| Well this guy isn’t quite as cool as another character with glasses named Sakamoto, I mean that’s basically impossible, but he’s definitely worthy of the name after seeing his actions in this first episode. Yeah this was a lot of fun, I definitely get the Spy x Family vibes like a lot of others are mentioning, and I’m a big fan of that series so it’s a plus for me, we even have a guy that can read minds here too, only he’s not a funny tiny character and instead a grown ass man lol. Sakamoto also picked a babe for a wife, I can see why he dropped his entire career that he was the best at just to have a family with her, and they’re a really wholesome family too, they treated Shin to dinner after he just tried putting a cap in Sakamoto’s ass after all lol. But the biggest question is how I feel about the talk of the town, being the art and animation, and the answer is the outrage is completely overblown imo, I think this looked perfectly fine, great even, yeah it’s not Chainsaw Man or Dadadan but I think for now it’s just what the show needs, of course there’s a chance the quality dips but I really liked what TMS Entertainment did for this first episode, I really hope they can keep the quality up, this is already planned to be a split cour too so hopefully the 2nd cour gets cooked up nicely by the time it comes. And another thing that got some hate was the OP, I will give people this one, it wasn’t that great visually for a series like this, but I still liked it, and Vaundy’s song absolutely slaps so at least the music pulled its weight. And I also loved the ED, Conton Candy is a group I’ve never heard before but I really liked the song, same with the art in the visuals. But man, it’s a real shame Netflix is doing this Japan early release yet again, it makes things difficult for weekly viewers like us, but unlike Blue Box, I am simply gonna be a week behind on this one, I’m just tired of there maybe not being an episode on the sites I watch anime day of, it’s gonna suck because I’ll be late for discussions but I’ll take having a guaranteed episode over being in the early club, still looking forward to the rest of the show regardless tho! |

@IzanaSolos you must be the absolute worst at party’s. What did you want out of it?? It portrayed the manga panel for panel plus a little extra, the animation was good (some of you dorks wanting dandadan style or chainsaw man or sooo stupid it would look so weird for this manga), voices work great?? So you actually hated the manga and are just here to gripe and be a hater for fun cause that’s what you do?
| @blaidz I dunno, maybe at least the bare minimum for a shounen? The comp and lighting work for this is actually horrendous, couple in the fact that the action direction is avg... for a show that's MAIN selling point is it's action. And no, I would not like a Chainsaw Man style, and I dunno what's your problem with Dandadan's style, would've worked perfectly here imo. |

| Mhm, looks like we got a pretty op protag on the go and I for one pretty liking it so far at least. Tarou Sakamoto, once known as the legendary hitman who's now retired from his deadly job and became a convenience store clerk and got himself a wife and a daughter. If that's not telling peak chad activities, then idk what is. Then later on, we got another character named Shin who used to work under Taro in the past and was ordered by his boss to kill him because he retired from his job which broke the hitman rule. Thankfully Shin got absolutely washed up by the man Tarou himself with barely any effort and got spared and after that Shin is being punished for not being able to execute his job and so he was demanded to kill himself while sparing Tarou. Shin the man that can "somehow" listen or read people's mind through his own talented thing ig know that the boss couldn't care less abt his death and will just come after Tarou anyways and BOOM the legendary hitman came and save him, demolishing the entire mafia gang. After that sequence Shin wanted to leave the town but got encouraged by Tarou to work by his side and pay him well + he'll get paid extra if he works overtime. Now it looks like Tarou and Shin are going to be the main duo of this story and I'm alr liking their dynamic! Talking animation wise, it was good. I'm not going to expect any super sakuga but I'm more than welcome for just good animation in general. Art looks all right but yeah, we all know people got their own preferences when it comes to art so it's mostly subjective. OP I alr talked abt before which visually just looks okay in general so 7/10 for that. Music wise definitely carried it despite it being not that great but not catchy which at best stands at 8/10 mainly thanks to the second half which is real good to listen to. This is one of Vaundy's weaker songs cause his other op song which is the Ousama Ranking one he's done is just so much better for me to hear over and over. Guess my expectations for the music was a bit high. ED by Conton Candy was pretty all right so 7/10 for this one. Time to see the 2nd episode which got simultaneously released with the 1st episode. Pretty exciting thing to hear! |

| Not a bad premiere episode. Simple charm and fun choreography go a long way to cover for a less-than-S-tier animation quality. A little weirded out by the supernatural elements like espers. Gumball-bullet deflection is as far as I'd hoped it would go... The song in the background kept going "Whoaaaa... Whoaaaa..." when Sakamoto was messing those goons up. Made me laugh. |

| ayyy this was great!! they did the comedy and psychic stuff real well people were ragging on this but i reckon it’s solid XD also great VA choices. nagi seishirou for shin is great. when he said “ore ga…” briefly i got epic blue lock flashbacks |
